Penguin

I have a longstanding relationship with several of the marketing teams at Penguin. Including Penguin General, Penguin Michael Joseph and Vintage.

I assist with bringing to life their vast selection of books with engaging content and bold animations.

I was commisioned by Penguin to help them celebrate the much anticipated sequel to Audrey Niffenegger’s highly anticipated sequel to The Time Travellers Wife.

Titled Life Out of Order, we began teasing the announcement with projections at high profile locations around London playing with the themes of time and cryptic anagrams featuring quotes from the original book.

Alongside the animations, we created further assets across social media and printed materials to start to build up the excitement for the big announcement. The anagrams reveal quotes from the original book for those who decipher them.

Below are a selection of animated assets I’ve created for Penguin, revealing cover designs, announcing new titles and creating hype.

Titles below: What July Knew by Emily Koch, The Light We Carry by Michelle Obama, Bitter by Alexina Anatole, The Husbands by Holly Gramazio, Elena by Miriam Gold, Why Aren’t We Talking About This?! by Hazel Mead and Florrie by Anna Trench

“Charlie is a fantastic designer, and one of the most efficient, professional and attentive that I’ve worked with. We have worked on multiple projects now with all extremes of deadline and stakeholders involved and he has been patient, generous and collaborative every step of the way. A trusted go-to for our marketing design needs.”
